Who is Dr. Chloros
Dr. Chloros was born and raised in Athens and studied Medicine at the University of Liège in Belgium. He subsequently transitioned to the United States where he spent several years in training in three States (Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia, and Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery in the United States at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia, as well as at the NIMTS hospital in Athens. Upon completing his residency, he successfully finished his fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he specialized in a broad range of orthopedic surgery. He moved to the United Kingdom where he worked as an orthopedic surgeon at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI), a major reference center that is among the top orthopedic surgery departments in the UK, where he further trained in orthopedic trauma under the renowned Professor Panagiotis Giannoudis for two consecutive years.
He has performed hundreds of successful surgical procedures, gaining extensive experience in major international centers, particularly in the USA, and specializes in hip, knee and foot and ankle surgery. He holds full medical licenses in the USA in the state of Pennsylvania (MD465887), as well as in the United Kingdom (GMC6049891).
Dr. Chloros has been the head of research projects in collaboration with the major international centers where he trained. He has published over 85 original scientific articles in the most reputable international journals of orthopedic surgery, such as the Annals of Surgery, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Injury, Arthroscopy, Journal of Hand Surgery, etc. He has authored several chapters in major American orthopedic surgery textbooks, including the “Bible” of hand surgery (Green’s Operative Hand Surgery), among others. He regularly reviews articles submitted for publication for over 20 international journals. He has presented numerous original works at more than 25 international conferences, as well as some Greek ones. He has been honored with several awards, including the first prize from the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and has also received funding from the same organization. Additionally, he has an extensive teaching career, training young doctors and orthopedic surgery residents in America and England. Dr. Chloros is also affiliated with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Athens, School of Medicine, where he continues to teach medical students and orthopedic surgeons in training.
